Wild Dad Challenge Coins are about much more than earning a coin.
They give dads and kids something to work towards together, a mixture of adventures, challenges and real-world skills designed to build the things our kids will need as they grow up.
Confidence. Courage. Resilience. Emotional intelligence. Independence. Gratitude. Practical skills. Service. Character.
Some challenges are hard. Some are adventurous. Some teach important life skills. And some are simply about getting outside, trying something new and having a great time together.
The important part is that we do them alongside our kids.
We don’t just tell our kids to be brave, resilient or willing to try difficult things. We get beside them and show them what that looks like.
Pioneer Challenge Coin
Start where you are. Adventure from there.
The Pioneer Challenge Coin is only available to Wild Dad Pioneers. Dads starting their Wild Dad journey in an area where there isn’t a Wild Dad Base Camp yet.
There are 54 challenges, adventures and tasks to complete.
They mix outdoor adventure, practical skills, courage, independence, problem-solving and emotional intelligence. Kids learn to handle frustration, make decisions, take responsibility, work through discomfort and keep going when things don’t go to plan.
You don’t need to be an outdoors expert.
You just need to be willing to get out there with your kids, try new things and make some memories.
Explorer Challenge Coin
Big adventures for little legs.
The Explorer Challenge Coin is only available to dads and kids who are part of a Wild Dad Explorer Outpost.
There are 54 challenges, adventures and tasks designed especially for younger children aged 1-5.
At this age, a creek, a muddy track, a dark forest or a night outside can feel like a massive adventure.
Along the way, kids build confidence, curiosity, independence, courage and emotional skills. Learning to deal with frustration, ask for help, try again, solve little problems and discover that they’re capable of more than they thought.
Small challenges now can build confidence that lasts a lifetime.
Expedition Challenge Coin
Bigger adventures. Greater responsibility.
The Expedition Challenge Coin is only available to dads and kids who are part of a Wild Dad Expedition Outpost.
There are 54 challenges, adventures and tasks to complete.
Expedition takes things another step, asking kids to plan, problem-solve, persevere and take greater responsibility.
They’ll also practise handling pressure, managing frustration, communicating clearly, making decisions and owning mistakes.
As our kids get older, our job isn’t to make their life easy, but to help them build the skills and confidence to deal with the obstacles life will put in their way.
It’s to give them opportunities to face challenges while we’re still walking alongside them.
Resilience Challenge Coin
Learning that hard doesn’t mean stop.
The Resilience Challenge Coin has seven challenges designed to help dads and kids deliberately practise doing hard things together.
They’ll experience discomfort, push through frustration, stick with something when they want to stop, practise until they can do something they couldn’t do before, and return to something they previously failed or gave up on.
It’s about building perseverance, self-discipline and the confidence to keep going when things get hard.
Because discovering “I can do hard things” is incredibly powerful.
Service & Stewardship Challenge Coin
Learning to look beyond ourselves.
The Service & Stewardship Challenge Coin has seven challenges focused on helping others and looking after the places around us.
Kids practise empathy, gratitude, generosity and responsibility through real action, helping a neighbour, serving their community, caring for the environment or contributing to something worthwhile.
It teaches them that life isn’t only about what we can get.
It’s also about what we can give, who we can help and what we can leave better than we found it.
